New Portable Vaporizer Review: AirVape XS By Apollo

Apollo is a company that some of you may not have heard of even if you’re pretty keen on what’s going on in the vape space, but there’s a reason that you might have and it’s likely their ultra slim AirVape XS vaporizer. While it’s not particularly special in anyway other than its size, it is a pretty good vape. We’d rate it like B/B- or so, which is actually how we rated it if you translate the percentage-based rating on our site for it into a grade like you’d see on a report card issued by a school. But anyways, this vape offers quite a bit: large display, ability to vape dried blends and concentrates, an isolated airpath like the one that the Boundless CFX has that we recently talked about here on our blog, and the pass-through charging technology that lets you use it while you charge it. Obviously, it has some nice features, but what really makes it special is its compact design that’s extremely thin. In fact, this might just be the thinnest dry blend portable vaporizer out there – or at the least, the thinnest that we’ve ever tried. Clearly though, there’s more to a vaporizer than how thin it is. Fortunately, Apollo (the company that makes this vape) has managed to put together a vape that’s more than just compact, it’s actually useful because it does what it really needs to do (create vapor) and it does pretty darn well.

This is the blue version of the AirVape XS. Super slim, large digital display, and enough features that we can’t help but wonder how Apollo stuffed so much into this vape while keeping it so small.

Stats Breakdown

Here’s an overview of the “stats” for this vape, as we like to call them. It heats up in approximately 20 seconds (fast), it uses a ceramic oven and glass mouthpiece (tasty), it’s pretty easy to clean and you don’t have to clean it all that often (convenient), it weighs less than a pound (light), and it produces vapor of a density that we didn’t really expect to see from a vape this small. But there are some downsides. For one, its battery isn’t all that powerful. It’s a 1300 mAh, which hardly compares to the 3000 mAh and above batteries that we see in some of the other portables. So as you might suspect based on the limitation of its battery, it doesn’t last all that long before you need to plug it in and recharge it. The other issue, and really the only other issue that we have with it, is its screen. It’s a nice screen and we’re not really complaining, but it could definitely be a bit brighter. When it’s bright out, it can prove a bit difficult to see unless you shade the screen with your hand. But these aren’t real problems and not anything that we’ve lost sleep over so we assume you’ll feel similarly about it in this regard as it’s still a good vape. It’s also inexpensive, which is obviously a good thing, especially if you’re on a tight budget.

The Review

So we mentioned that we reviewed this vape, or at least, the title of this blog post certainly implies it. And that’s exactly the case. Our review, however, is not this blog post. No, not at all. This is more of a quick summary of our review. Our real review, the complete version, can be found on our site and it’s packed full of details that we’ve left out of this little summary. It includes tips on how to use it, a full assessment of its vapor, the exact dimensions and weight of the vaporizer, a list of its accessories, information about its heating element, and a whole lot more. It’s basically a compilation of everything you’d ever want to know about the XS. So if you really want to know more about this vape, then you’re going to want to take a long hard look at what we have to say about it in our complete review. One thing that we’ve omitted from this summary that we should probably add is the fact that its wax cup insert isn’t designed to support liquid blends, only waxy concentrates and the like. We want to make sure you understand this in case you were thinking you could vape liquids like e-juices with it because you can’t. In fact, you may very well ruin the vape if you try so don’t even bother. Just wanted to get that out of the way so none of you reading this go out and get one and then ruin it shortly after by trying to vaporize liquids with it. Anyways, if you want to know more about it, the Air Vape XS, then take a look at our review. And while you’re there, check out some of the other vapes we’ve reviewed because there are some real gems out there and if the XS isn’t quite right for you, you’ll almost certainly find one reviewed on our site that is.
